A Biblical Model for Building Successful Organizations

One of the earliest group projects recorded in the Bible was the story of the tower of Babel in Genesis 11. This project was well conceived in many ways — the participants were unified in purpose, found a good location, used the best technology, and worked as a team. As a result, the project enjoyed a modicum of short-term success; but in the end, the project and its participants came under God's judgment because their motives were self-glorification, not the glorification of God. Any organization that wishes to enjoy long-term success must be aligned with God and His purposes. Only when our motives are pure before God can we be truly world-class and move Beyond Babel.
